Masco’s European Legal group has an opening for a commercial attorney with general commercial legal experience with particular experience in competition, distribution, trade, regulatory compliance, dispute resolution and M&A in Europe and the United Kingdom. Experience advising US public companies and in other international regions is desired as well. This position will be a legal partner to Masco’s European businesses, mainly Hansgrohe SE, and will report into Masco’s Legal Team in North America. Your Tasks

The position is part of one legal team that supports Masco’s European businesses as well as US based business teams to assure legal compliance applicable European and US laws and Masco policies particularly related to competition law and general commercial legal guidance to our European business units. Specific areas of focus include:

  • Competition & Distribution, Trade and other similar matters
  • Commercial contracts, including negotiation
  • General commercial matters such as advertising & marketing, warranties, social media and product compliance
  • Regulatory compliance, including monitoring applicable legislative developments
  • Legal requirements governing the manufacture and sale of consumer products
  • Sustainability, including monitoring applicable legislative developments
  • Litigation and dispute resolution
  • Acquisitions and divestitures
  • Other matters as appropriate        
  • Prepare and present legal compliance training programs and conduct compliance audits and investigations
  • Coordinate with other subject matter experts in Europe, the US and Asia

Your Profile

  • German bar qualification with outstanding academic achievement (both state exams “befriedigend” or higher). An LLM degree from the UK or US is a plus.
  • 7 to 12 years of professional experience within an international organization or law firm (preferably with or advising US public companies or their subsidiaries); highly qualified applicants with less professional experience will be considered. 
  • Excellent management skills and business judgment with a capacity to make decisions and provide advice, while understanding of overall business objectives and the risks/rewards of each situation.
  • Practical, business-oriented approach to problem solving, complemented by an appreciation of legal complexity and risk.
  • Work with the highest level of ethics and integrity.
  • Manage outside counsel and other service providers.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to travel 15-20% of the time to European and other subsidiaries.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in German and English. Additional languages are an asset.


The role requires regular on-site presence in Luxembourg. Candidates living within a reasonable commuting distance (e.g., Greater Region) are welcome, and relocation support is available if needed.
